NMCA is the only charter organization located in Washington, D.C., with two registered lobbyists on staff. This distinction allows us to work closely with decisionmakers in the U.S. Congress, the White House and various agencies including the Coast Guard, and helps NMCA ensure that federal policies and laws are favorable to the industry's growth, and do not add to the cost burden of operating a charter firm.

NMCA's Washington activites include working on dozens of bills and numerous regulations, testimony before Congress, member meetings with the Coast Guard and Congress on issues of importance.
